Venom IT are a Manchester-based IT support provider with a seriously capable team — but a digital presence that wasn’t reflecting the expertise behind the logo.

Despite years with a previous agency, traffic was weak, leads were thin, and their holy-grail keyword (“IT Support Manchester”) may as well have been guarded by dragons.

They knew they needed real search performance — not platitudes, PDFs and wishful thinking.

Brief

Venom IT came to us with one clear mission: make the phone ring, with the right leads, and dominate local IT support searches across Greater Manchester.

Their audience wasn’t casual browsers. These were:

  • SMEs needing a reliable IT partner

  • In-house IT managers seeking specialist support

  • Businesses undertaking digital transformation

The issue? SERPs were overflowing with heavyweight competitors: national agencies, global software companies, and a certain tech giant named Microsoft.

We weren’t just climbing a hill, we were stepping onto a battlefield.

Goals and objectives

We set out to deliver meaningful, measurable movement, not vanity metrics. 

  • Increase local impressions to 1,000+ per month

  • Drive clicks for “IT Support Manchester” from 0 to 5 per month

  • Improve lead quality reported directly by the client

  • Boost contact form conversions from 7–9 to 10–15 per month

  • Increase phone clicks from 5–7 to 8–10 per month

  • Add 400 new users per month (minimum)

  • Achieve 5+ page-one keyword rankings (starting from just 2)

  • And the big one: page one for “IT Support Manchester”

Solution

We didn’t tweak. We transformed, strategically, methodically, and with a little creative mischief.

1. A navigation detox

We stripped the bloated menu back to a clean, focused set of services.  Clarity for users. Clarity for Google. Clarity for future optimisation.

2. A complete overhaul of tone, content depth and SEO optimisation

Previous copy was confusing, vague, and action-light.

We rebuilt pages with:

  • clearer messaging

  • stronger search signals

  • deeper service detail

  • proper CTAs

  • keyword alignment based on real competitive data

3. Systematic blog auditing + EEAT rebuild

We consolidated, updated and repurposed historic content.  Then we launched a rolling calendar of new, authoritative blog pieces every 2–3 weeks, supporting internal linking, user journeys and trust-building.

4. Location SEO to dominate Greater Manchester

We created new location pages for key postcodes and towns, giving Venom IT visibility in the local searches that mattered most.

5. A custom-built CTR optimisation tool

This was our ace card. We engineered a bespoke workbook connected to API data and GSC queries, helping us:

  • Analyse CTR on both historic + newly ranking pages

  • Dynamically match real user queries to SERP opportunities

  • Sharpen titles and meta descriptions based on actual search behaviour

It meant we could squeeze every possible click out of newly earned visibility, fast.

6. Clear, expectation-setting communication

We ensured Venom understood that improving quality meant reshaping traffic patterns, not chasing vanity numbers.  Transparency built trust, and trust built momentum.
